Nuskha Meaning [नुस्ख़ा]

Nuskha [Hindi:नुस्ख़ा] is an Urdu word which means a prescription, a formula, a recipe maybe, in some contexts. The word is actually used for the formulas/medicines used by hakeems, the medical practitioners of the earlier times who didn't have medical certificates/degrees as such. Even today the word is used commonly to refer to Ayurvedic medicines in India and for home medicines in the Hindi speaking regions.

The word most probably comes from Arabic where Nuskha means a copy, or script.
