Aashutosh/ Ashutosh Meaning

Ashutosh is a common Indian name and is used to address Lord Shiva as per Hindu mythology.

The name is made of aashu (आशु - quick, impromptu) + tosh (तोष - to fulfill) and hence means someone who can be pleased easily.

Since of the three main Hindu Gods, i.e. Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, Shiva was the most easily pleased, leading to many Rakshasas, including Raavana and Bhasmasura, getting boons from him, and hence he was called Ashutosh.
